So I'm also off to a bit of a slow start for the year... Just thought that maybe it would wait for me but it won't so I have reluctantly decided to attempt a new years resolution or should I say a new years motion...

To move more, like as in exercise. Be more healthy. After all the running I do for kids you would think I would be in shape but all the running comes the simple conveniences like eating out and little to no time just for me. But I have vowed to do my Zumba everyday. Which I must say so far is working! Just hope no one can see my 2 left feet.

Now for the good stuff...
CJ has once again made the Alberta Winter Games team for Zone 7 in gymnastics and is off to Spruce grove area in February.
KT is working had on his acting and dance/ music career. He is in a community musical theatre group that will perform in February as well. He also made the school musical.
And Nix, well he is just growing and getting into everything.

So seems lately we are the cursed with mechanical items, our silly washing machine has been broken now for like 6 weeks and have payed to fix it. That didn't work... Then want to have some fun and now the boat alternator has gone, bought a new truck and it has had it's issues. Bad things come in threes right???

So you know as you get older the wiser you become? Remember All the lessons you learned as a child from your parents, friends, church leaders, teachers etc that help to make you are today. Of all these lessons the one far most important is family. How we love them. How our family loves us. Life can be so overwhelming, we are expected to accomplish so much. Much of which if we are not careful will take away our joy.

Joy in the family, that what we have been focusing on, not that we didn't before but ya know when it finally sort of slaps you in the face and says pay attention. That's us...

Milestones of 9 weeks

Today was the day, Nix had to go for his 2 month needles, the first of many throughout his life I'm sure.

If any of you have children you know all the side effects of these nasty little pokes, and not like any other child Nix was not exempt from the pain or the grief. So sweet and so happy before the event and a sad little scream accompanied by a pout of the lip. I felt so bad for him.

For the most part he has been pretty content, even a couple of smiles. He has spent most of the day and evening sleeping. The body's best defense to trauma. Big sis CJ is taking good care to cuddle and comfort him!
He is growing like a weed as most would say.
He now weighs 11lbs 4oz and is 23.5 inches

It is funny, I don't remember my other kids growing this fast. Now that they are older I am wishing for them to be little again. CJ was talking to Nix and telling him to never get big, he should stay small, only grow to where he can smile on purpose then stop. She said no one told her to stay small and look what happened she grew up.
Is there something out there where you can bottle their growth? I guess the answer is pictures, capture every moment... By the time the third one comes around your supposed to of forgotten about capturing moments, but pro Nix gets over run with photos. ONes on cell phones, one for face book, and ones for the blog. I would venture to say he has at least one pic a day!

So it has taken a bit to get back into the swing of things, but not all is lost when becoming a mom for the third time. The challenge is 12 years later that throws you for a loop.
I won't trade it for the world. All the talk of wonderful mothers and mothers day, has given me cause to reflect on being a mom. Not that I ever stopped being a mom in the last 14 years...but raising a pre teen and a teenager is different then the new little spirit that arrived at our house a short 3 weeks ago.

I have wonderful kids. They are helpful,kind,loving,and independent. Independence something you take for granted when a baby comes along. All of the sudden you responsible for one small persons every need. Feeding,changing,and bathing etc all have become a part of our daily routine.

Feeling blessed by all the help I have received in adjusting to the changes in day to day life.

A bit of a shock to the system. I had just given way to the idea that we would not have any more. So even though it was not a planned event, it certainly was not a prevented one.
Everyone is in our house is excited non the less. Now we have so much more to do, like finish the basement, so CJ has a room and her very own bathroom. As for me I have to come to terms with a whole new lifestyle change. It is like being 21 again and doing this for the first time, I think I have forgotten everything. Wish me luck!

We had some friends from rocky come to visit us, looks calm on the lake but the further we went out onto the lake the worse it got. So a little adventure as we took water over the front of the boat and got a little wet. No chance of sinking though. It took us like an hour to get back to shore and then the kids had a bit of fun swimming in the bay.

So glad they came to visit, we were hoping to get out again but the weather did not want to co-operate. Lets hope for another day, before summer really ends.

Second Voyage, Finally had a nice enough day to go out on the lake and enjoy some FUN. I think this is Kdog's mid life crisis???, just kidding. But he did enjoy his Birthday in his new toy. So this is what 39 forever looks like, a boy who refuses to turn 40.

I was just looking at the blog and realized April was my last post, not that much has changed or anything but thought an update on life was required.

Dance has now finished and gymnastics is wrapping up, we're done with guitar and so life seems to be getting a bit slower now. ( ya right) It is just an illusion.

Here are some Pics of whats been on the go, we're now getting ready for the summer of camping and boating! I am getting excited.

This is Kt at his Talent show, he did awesome ,only performer to sing without back ground lyrics he did it all on his own remembered every word. I was impressed! I will try any and post the video of it if I can, I will probably need the computer wizardry of KT.

KDog volunteered for the Oilers hockey camp held in Bonnyville early in May. He had lots of fun teaching and hanging out with some of the Oilers. I don't remember who this is but he is a Oiler from the 80"s dynasty.

Kt and some of his friends went to the SodaPOP concert in Edmonton, they had a great time seeing Emily Osment ( girl who plays Lily on Hannah Montana)

While CJ and I went to Rocky to see year end Gala,visit Friends and family. Here the cousins are modeling their matching shorts!

Last week has been crazy, like that is something new that I post! LOL.

Things will start to slow down by the end of the week as dance is finishing up for the year. I will be posting some pictures from that next week.

Just wanted to drop a line recognizing KT for an award that he received as part of his youth ministry group from school. The group meets once per week over lunch hours or after school to plan and carryout volunteer work in regards to the community and within the school. They have completed projects for relay for life, the Haiti earthquake efforts, served at the easter lunch for less fortunate just to name a few. Their group is only the second elementary school to be awarded the Future Leaders of Tomorrow Award,

as it is usually given to High school and Jr high schools.

This was the group of 17 kids that work so hard to make our community a better place to live. They range from grades 4-6

So much to blog about now. It is exciting to have more than the usual activities to blog about.

Here the kids finished hunting for easter eggs. I will try to forget to mention that KT had to wake me and tell me the bunny hadn't come. So I sent him back to bed do get the job done. The joy of having older kids that believe but really know who the real bunny is. It is a unwritten rule at our house that if you don't believe he doesn't come. The truth about some things ruins the magic of whats to come.

So the action doesn't stop here...

We were able to enjoy family and see old friends, something I don't do enough of.

So this what i do to have fun once in awhile, actually it was to show cj if she was meeting her requirements of 180o split leap on floor. it was pretty impressive. I need to start taking pictures of things more fun. Otherwise I will have to resort to just writing in my blogs and there is nothing more boring from me.
Nothing new to report, Big K is busy as ever at work. If it is not his regular shift then it is courses or off site meetings.
April proves to be a busy month with gymnastics competitions and Dance recitals. I am however taking a little break not sure what I am doing or where I am going but, it will not involve gymnastics or the flower store.

Kt went on his first ski trip with his class. He loved it! He did awesome, he didn't even fall down once. When asked how he liked it , he replied" I love it can you buy me some equipment" Like money grows on the trees just outside. It made me laugh but I'm sure his dad will be glad it is not dance or performing arts. He might actually get away from the computer and go outside.

So, it is first for awhile that I have time to actually right anything.
We just made it through the winter games in our region. I was the sport chair along with my friend from the Gymnastics Club. It was a huge success thanks to awesome Volunteers and and great family members that saved my scoring butt.THANKS
CJ Made the Provincial Level 3 team for Zone 7. She had a blast ,it was great experience for her. It was her first real competition at this level. She was 9th on Vault and 10th on Floor. Contributing both of those scores to the team results.
I am very Proud of her, but I'm always proud of her.
During that weekend we celebrated KT 11th birthday. Not sure how he got that old but, he is quit the young man. He is better at the computer then I am, a wiz when it comes to anything electronic... Loves his new Ipod.

So my house is almost clean, kids have couple of days off and Me with no job to go to. I am so excited, I am relaxing till it hurts, or I forget what I was doing, which ever comes first.

Days go by and I wonder if I am accomplishing anything. It takes like 5 min to mess up the house and 72 hours to get to the point where I have enough time and energy to clean it. I am starting to think that cloning is not such a bad idea!lol
Winter time , and not a lot of sunlight has actually given me the bug to renovate or at least move some things around, so I'll keep you posted with some Pictures later. After I get done with winter games , training camps , general cleaning,laundry,dishes,taxi services and and and... I may not get to do anything for a while.

So I am hoping to do this like once a week. but you know how I am if there is no pictures to tell the story. these are still pictures from christmas holidays. My really cool christmas present of a camera. I did not get to use it till boxing day , because we did not have the right memory card for it. and since then I have not had the chance to even use it how sad is that. Well, as we all reflect on the new year and ponder a resolution to do better, work harder or whatever it may be I choose to focus on the family. Do all the things that preached to us throughout the years. So as my list may be long of things I need to do, remember I am doing them one at a time so maybe by the time I get to next year , I will have accomplished at least one! Made one a habit and enjoyed just that much more out of my life.

So without pictures, ( cause the new camera I received from my hubby, I have yet to totally figure out. So this is totally against my nature, but I'm trying it) I am wishing everyone a year of many happy memories and hoping that what ever you wish for comes true for you and yours!

New for September Glasses,glasses and more glasses.
Both the kids needed glasses,
CJ for seeing the board and only has to wear them during class time.

And KT has to wear them all the time. He has one eye stronger then the other.

Either way they look great. I always liked the look of glasses and as a kid thought that I should have them. but was fortunate enough to have better then 20/20. The kids not so lucky thanks to dad, grandma B. grandpa Don ,grandma Cheryl and Even Papa. What's with those genetics!

So far they are happy and excited to wear them, we'll see how long that lasts!

So I have to admit that I am a total copy cat. Especially if I see a great Idea. So I did make all of these things.

So a hugh thanks goes out to Bree from MOD events, I adapted some of her great Ideas to put on a baby shower for my friend. I think everything turned out so cute, I however was not completely on the ball for pictures, missed the cute flower center piece (but it was made in this container with cute bright pink gerberas) and a few other decorations.

I wished MOD was closer I would be using her expertise all the time.

And I am now falling for cupcakes, who knew there was so many things you could do with them, all you need is a little imagination.

First days of school and summer decides to really show up. We went to the lake for family home evening and because it was 30 above. CJ wanted to try to water ski, and made it up on her second try! Awesome! she is now hooked, we will be spending the rest of our summers on the lake I can see it now. So everone will have to come see us!

We had our traditional visit from CJ's best friend Tay. The girls were, what they determined to be bored ,so I told them to go find something new to do. So they tested out the old camera and took some pretty good pics. They had fun anyways and I enjoy looking at the end results. You can never take too many pics.

I love late summer. We were having fun taking some family pictures. I can't beleive how big my kids are getting. I don't really feel that much older till I look at them. CJ will be in grade 8 and KT in grade 5 this year.

One of the kids mentioned it would only be 2 years and CJ will be in high school. Where does all the time go?? In our family picture is also my unoffical adopted daughter Mando. She's been a part of our family for about 10 years now. So we treat her the same.

I am not however ready for school to start again.

I never got around to posting these earlier. But these were from an audition KT did for the show The Next Star. I don't know if any of you watch, it is YTV program, the kids love. He had great time. He was little disappointed when he didn't make it. But we met lots of cool, talented kids, and made a friend too. So he will keep trying.

I am just so proud that he even had the confidence to go and try. Only 1 girl from Alberta made to the top 16 in the country.

CJ on Dude. We thought that Dudette was a better name, considering it is a girl.

CJ and KT hanging out on the fence waiting a turn to ride The kids thought it would be fun to have Dad teach them to rope they were pretty good at it. I would say it is because of the great teacher.

It's all about the rope. CJ caught the roping dumby just about everytime she threw.

They love to ride. that is one of the first things they ask to do when we visit the farm. Dude takes pretty good care of them. KT has taken a liking to troting...but it is a bit bumpy.

I'm kind of on this kick for old things and testing the camera, I just love black and white gives that old west feeling to just regular pics.

Winter lasted extra long this year. We were thankful for beautiful weather this weekend. With a high of 30 we decided that it would be fun to visit the local beach. The kids had fun playing in the sand.

We are excited to go camping with our new camper(5th wheel), and BBQ's. Okay for most it is not really camping but, It is my kind of camping. So hopefully we will see everyone in our travels this summer. We hope that some of our friends will come visit us here, this is the time of year when it is most beautiful in Cold Lake.

We have some great lakes for fishing and just enjoying god's creations.

We have pretty much spent the winter traveling around the province and into Sask. for gymnastics. And if we weren't at gymnastics we were dancing or music or working.

But glad that there is some sunshine in the day!

My friends at our Christmas exchange... these are the friends you;ll find me with all the time. The six amigos!

Then a few pictures from the Christmas eve dance for families, and a fine visit from Santa! Cassie thinks she is getting to old, but she wanted the candy!

Christmas morning, totally and completely spoiled. And that is about all I have time for right now as I am off to another get together with my friends, It 's nacho night at Jen's.

Wow, where does time go! Over a whole month has passed since I posted my last entry. And still do not have alot of time to write now. But I will return with pictures and the happenings of the nutt house. Which as you can tell from my poor ability to keep this blog updated...

There are days when I think I don't take enough pictures. But you tell from the look in KT eyes he thinks I'm crazy. A Fall Corn maze was fun for all. It was a school Field trip to Vermilion College. Oh to be able to just have fun and go on Field trips again. Everyday is an adventure.

Well I haven't yet got onto the whole adding pictures from files yet. I'll keep working on it. As part of my Sunday school lesson I encouraged the kids I teach to write down 3 things each day the brought them joy. "Be of Good Cheer". I am a few days behind so Here I go...

Today is a day of catch up. Have you ever noticed how when there is a holiday, you feel like you missed a day somewhere? Maybe it is just the consistancy of everyday life, the routine that keeps us moving forward.
There is much to be thankful for at the Nutt house. We were able to spend the day together with friends and family. Much fun was had. Always a little excitment with 21 people to feed. Feels like a Johnson reunion every time we get together. ( Minus the pictures) Maybe that is why we feel so at home here.
We had a great family home evening all together. The lesson of course was on being thankful.
There were many answers, all of which make me most thankful for the guidence I have in my life. For the knowledge of what is held for us after this small moment in time. Great relationships that will last into eternity.
I wish health and happiness for everyone and we miss you!

So this is where a new chapter begins. A few details have changed...new and rewarding jobs,new home and new schools for the kids. Most things remain the same... CJ still has gymnastics and dance to keep her busy. KT is becoming quite the performer with music,gymnastics and dance. Great friends and family to fill our lives with joy! Till next time...

In the nuttyness of our lives I seemed to have missed how CJ managed to grow into this fine young lady. She is responsible and caring.Yet still very trying. I find myself repeating all of the advice my mother told to me.

Thanks Mom for being such a great example.

I pray on days that are difficult I can be just like my mom.

If time travel were possible then this is the journey of our last year.
It was not many days ago that we were moving to the north country, and now moving again.
Seems we can't make up our mind...Country ,city ,country.
We settled on the country.
